The first Sunday in March is Children’s Day and Family Works Northern is inviting North Island families and children to participate in events to celebrate children.
Children and young people at the Community of St Aidan’s, Northcote, reached out to their neighbours with Christmas gifts made with love.
Crystal,* aged 11, became aggressive and angry when her parents separated. She climbed out the top-storey windows of their house, lashed out at her family and even pushed her mother Nicola* down the stairs.
Eva’s baby, Cortez, was born one week before she was released from prison. Now, with support from Family Works and others, mother and son are thriving in a healthier environment.
Lesieli and her family struggled after the birth of their sixth child. They had very little income for everyday needs, let alone paying off their debts.
