Family Works Northern in East Auckland

Family Works Northern's East Auckland office is a satellite of the Leslie Centre in Mt Roskill, Auckland.

The East Auckland site is the base for two Family Workers who provide:

· social work assessment and support for families

· social work in secondary schools called the Multi Agency Social Support in Secondary Schools (MASSISS) programme under which we have one social worker operating in a secondary school providing early intervention and preventative social work services to young people and their families.

· counselling for families

· group programmes

East Auckland currently runs the following group programme:

The Incredible Years: A parenting programme that provides parents/caregivers with useful information and practical guidelines on how to handle a variety of challenges. It consists of weekly two-hour group sessions for up a minimum of 10 weeks.
