Family Works Northern on the North Shore

Family Works Northern's Albany, North Shore office is a satellite of the larger Waitakere office.

Our North Shore site is the base for two Family Workers who provide social work and counselling support to children and families.

Dependent on demand and funding they also offer group programmes. Currently they are offering:

The Incredible Years: A parenting programme aimed at providing parents/caregivers with useful information and practical guidelines on how to handle a variety of challenges. It consists of weekly two-hour group sessions for a minimum of 10 weeks.
Strengthening Step-families: A programme to assist couples in the process of, or already living in a blended/step family, to build stronger relationships. The course encourages communication, and emphasises the importance of partnering whilst parenting. It consists of weekly two-hour group sessions over six weeks.

North Shore City/Rodney District families can also be referred to Presbyterian Support Northern's Budgeting and Money Management services which provides practical support to help people overcome difficulties managing money/debt.
